ARDEN

Jennifer Zachlod

Arden is a teenage cyborg runaway. Sent to a mission almost one century ago, he had to leave his civilization. Arden was born and raised on a spaceship. That is why his only contact with his ancestors and the life lived on planet earth takes place through his VR machine. As Arden has not much physical space at home, he spends most of his time in the virtual world.

But if there is no perceptible difference between the virtual reality and real life, do you even feel different?

THE IDEA

Even if the VR machine imitates social interaction, Arden feels lonely.

To understand Arden’s emotional state, we get to see some intimate extracts of his biography.

Throughout the whole story the focus lays mainly on the transmission of Arden’s emotions and feelings.

Like Arden himself the viewer does not clearly realize what happens in the inner or outer world and is taken on a metaphorically speaking journey.
